I believe buildings should be functional, sustainable and beautiful. Beautiful architecture contributes to our enjoyment of life. Through nuanced design, use of materials and the subtle application of decorative elements, contemporary buildings can be liveable and meet the functional needs of their owners, while being attractive spaces to live in.

The eastern elevation and raked ceiling adds space and light while the exposed roof trusses will add character.

Earlwood Alts and Adds

This project discretely added space while connecting with the outside and making better use of existing internal areas

Marrickville Alterations and Studio/Garage

This job is in two parts: an outbuilding with garage, studio, bedroom, bathroom and: an extension to the existing dwelling house that internalises the laundry and kitchen while opening the expanded living space to the yard. In truth the the design was closely directed by the client and somewhat limited by the council.

Summer Hill Alterations

This Victorian house in Summer Hill had a very narrow kitchen and living area. The design increased the overall floor area and re-positioned the the kitchen to better link the living are with the yard.

The 1980's addition to this Victorian house was no longer functional. Changes were made to enhance its heritage status and facilitate contemporary living.

Granny Flat Marrickville

This Granny Flat keeps itself separated from the main house which is situated to the south. All three rooms open onto a small north facing courtyard while the main entrance opens onto an eastern courtyard. The intention is to give privacy and light.
